Dr. Karen Haller, Vice President of Johns Hopkins Hospital, USA Visits LZUSH

Dr. Karen Haller, Vice President of the Johns Hopkins Hospital in United States, visited the LZUSH and gave lectures on November 8. Prof. Zhang Wenfang, Vice President of the LZUSH, and more than 500 nursing delegates attended the meeting chaired by Dou Xinman, director of the Nursing Department.

On behalf of the hospital, Prof. Zhang Wenfang extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to Dr. Karen Haller for her visit to the hospital. Prof. Zhang said that it was a great honor to invite Dr. Karen Haller from John Hopkins, a world-class research university, and hope to take this opportunity to establish long-term and stable cooperation with Johns Hopkins Hospital and with Dr. Karen Haller. The cooperation and exchanges would offer our nurses more and better platforms in ways that enable them to study and apply international advanced nursing ideas and management to improve our  nursing level. Then Ms. Dou Xinman presented the overview and highlights of nursing department of the LZUSH.

Dr. Karen Haller extended the lecture on “Differentiating a World-Class Nursing Department” as the theme, spanning professional nursing model, evidence-based environment model, treatment model, and nurses' roles and functions. Audience interact with Dr. Karen Haller on what they’re interested, such as how to evaluate nursing quality indicators, how to effectively improve nursing leadership.

After the meeting, Dr. Karen Haller visited wards and had an in-depth and detailed communication with nurses.
